![]() ![]() The original game was played on the Nintendo Wii with motion controls, and the Switch version faithfully recreates the experience. It helps that each fight comes with a phone call from Sylvia with even more excellent dialogue.įor the gameplay, No More Heroes is a hack and slash, but it’s far from your typical one. Of course, not all the writing is gold, but when it comes to the boss battles, No More Heroes is fantastic. The dialogue exhange between Travis and each ranked assassin is quality stuff, even if it borderlines the ridiculous at times. I’d easily rank the bosses of this game with any Metal Gear Solid boss, as their personalities make them such fun characters. In a lot of ways, this is a boss battle game, as each fight is more memorable than the last. Using a legitimate beam katana won in an auction site online, Travis strikes down foe after foe to get to his target assassins. It’s a unique premise that works incredibly well, making the story a huge highlight for the game. This puts him in a predicament where he has to kill the remaining ranked assassins to climb to the top and reach #1. After taking on a job from the mysterious Sylvia Christel, Travis kills the 11th ranked assassin in a game set by the United Assassins Association. You’ll play as Travis Touchdown, an otaku with little patience, a perverted mind, and a thirst for the thrill of battle. Whether this is your first time in Santa Destroy, or a long awaited return, No More Heroes welcomes you to its story of assassination, extortion, and vengeance. To celebrate, XSeed Games has brought the original game to Nintendo Switch, but not without a few enhancements. Somehow, despite all odds, this title spawned a franchise, with the newest entry coming to Nintendo Switch next year. This 2007 Wii game came early in the console’s life, but the world it created left a lasting impression among fans. Perhaps the most memorable title to fit that category, however, is Suda51’s No More Heroes. I remember the console being the home to some of the most ultra violent games at the time, offering titles like MadWorld and Manhunt 2. While it’s not exactly wrong, I remember things a bit differently. Adding Move support to No More Heroes make sense given its Wii origin, but you can't exactly add Kinect support to No More Heroes, can you? Although, that would make charging up your beam katana way funnier. Many may remember the Nintendo Wii as the innovative console with a motion controller and family friendly games. The only question remaining now is how we get that 360 version of Heroes Paradise out of Japan. as well, right? If adding Move functionality is the way I'm going to get to play No More Heroes on an HD console, than that's fine with me. And if Konami is going to spend any time and money adding Move support to the game, they might as well bring Heroes' Paradise to the U.S. If Konami can quickly and cheaply add motion support back into Heroes' Paradise, they can bring that game to an audience who's likely to be interested in anything that features Move support. However, I suppose there's something to that logic early adopters to the Move controller aren't going to have access to a huge library of games that support the hardware. = TEASER =I am a little shocked that the way the rest of the world might get access to the HD port of No More Heroes is by adding motion control support. The very motion controls that were removed from the 360 and PS3 ports of No More Heroes are being added back into the game. Like Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, you will be able to play a game that is, essentially, a better-looking version of a Wii game that controls exactly the same way. ![]() ![]() That means that, if you do have a Move controller, you will be able to play No More Heroes using the exact same controls as the Wii version of the game. However, what makes this story really bizarre is that, in bringing the game out to Europe, Konami will also be adding PlayStation Move support to the PS3 version of Heroes' Paradise. Here is the reason Move support is perfect for No More Heroes. With Ubisoft walking away from its No More Heroes publishing deal, there is still no guarantee that Heroes Paradise will get a proper release in the U.S. However, acording to the news story seen on Joystiq, Konami has elected to only publish the PS3 version of the game, and it has announced only a European publishing deal for Heroes' Paradise. Konami has announced that it will publish No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise-the port of the original No More Heroes on the Wii to the Xbox 360 and PS3-in Europe sometime in 2011. ![]()
